Barrel Lamp
Erik De Nijs and Tim Smit co-founded their own design studio, Nieuwe Heren or "New Gents," after graduating from Holland's prestigious Utrecht school of art in 2009. Their collaboration caught the attention of Dutch design label New Duivendrecht who asked the two to redesign a simple floodlight. Fascinated by the strong and sturdy aesthetics of WWI searchlights, Nieuwe Heren crafted this wooden barrel lamp that combines rustic design with modern sensibility.
